Job Summary:
The GIS Specialist will be responsible for managing, analyzing, and maintaining geospatial data to support project planning and execution. Duties include preparing maps, updating geodatabases, performing spatial analysis, and ensuring data accuracy. The role requires proficiency in GIS software, strong analytical and technical skills, attention to detail, problem-solving, and effective communication.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Geomatics, Computer Science, GIS, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in data management, GIS data processing, spatial data analysis, and geospatial database maintenance.
- Proficient in GIS software, geospatial data management, database maintenance, spatial analysis, and digital map preparation.
- Demonstrates strong analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, effective communication, teamwork, and the ability to manage data accurately and efficiently.
- Must be available in Kuwait with valid transferrable visa
- Collect, organize, validate, update, and maintain geospatial datasets and databases to ensure data accuracy, consistency, completeness, and accessibility in accordance with project requirements.
- Perform spatial analysis, data processing, and geographic assessments to identify spatial relationships, evaluate geographic information, and provide relevant data to support project planning and decision-making.
- Prepare, update, and produce digital maps, thematic maps, layouts, and geospatial visualizations based on project specifications and user requirements.
- Manage GIS databases, geodatabases, attribute tables, coordinate systems, and spatial data layers, ensuring proper data organization, integration, and retrieval.
- Integrate geospatial data from various sources, including GPS/GNSS surveys, CAD drawings, satellite imagery, and other digital datasets, while verifying data accuracy, coordinate alignment, and compatibility.
- Maintain GIS records, metadata, data inventories, and technical documentation. Provide GIS-related information, maps, and analytical outputs to project teams and assist users with GIS data requirements and technical queries.
