Kuwait Packing Materials Manufacturing Co. (KPAK) is looking for an experienced Production Engineer to join our Production team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting and improving manufacturing operations, with a strong focus on production efficiency, process optimization, machine performance, waste reduction, quality, and continuous improvement.
Candidates must have solid hands-on experience in the plastic manufacturing industry, particularly Thermoforming and Plastic Extrusion processes.
Key Responsibilities- Manage and monitor daily production activities to ensure achievement of production targets, quality standards, and delivery requirements.
- Monitor and improve productivity, operational efficiency, product quality, and material utilization.
- Analyze production processes, identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies, and implement appropriate process improvements and corrective actions.
- Monitor machine performance, downtime, production losses, scrap, waste, and operational efficiency.
- Conduct root-cause analysis for recurring production and process issues and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Troubleshoot production, process, and machine-related issues to minimize downtime and production disruption.
- Coordinate closely with Maintenance, Quality, Planning, Warehouse, and other departments to ensure smooth production operations.
- Participate in new production projects, machine installations, production trials, commissioning, and process validation.
- Monitor production KPIs and prepare regular production performance and improvement reports.
- Drive initiatives related to continuous improvement, waste reduction, cost optimization, and productivity enhancement.
- Identify opportunities for process standardization and automation.
- Ensure compliance with established quality, safety, and operational procedures.
- Provide technical guidance and support to production supervisors and operators when required.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Production Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in plastic manufacturing.
- Hands-on experience in Thermoforming and Plastic Extrusion processes is required.
- Strong knowledge of plastic production processes, manufacturing operations, process optimization, and continuous improvement.
- Good understanding of production KPIs, including productivity, efficiency, downtime, scrap/waste, material utilization, and OEE.
- Proven ability to conduct root-cause analysis, troubleshooting, and corrective action implementation.
- Experience in production improvement projects, machinery installation, commissioning, or process development is an advantage.
- Strong analytical, technical, problem-solving, and coordination skills.
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and take ownership of production improvement initiatives.
