Lab Technician

Responsibilities

• Perform QC tests on raw materials, ingredients, finished beverages, and packaging materials.
• Collect and analyze samples from production lines according to quality control procedures.
• Conduct physical, chemical, and microbiological tests as per Pepsi Co quality standards.
• Test water quality, including pH, hardness, TDS, chlorine, conductivity, and microbiological parameters.
• Analyze syrup and beverage samples for Brix, sugar content, acidity, CO levels, color, and taste.
• Verify product specifications before production, during processing, and after packaging.
• Monitor Critical Control Points (CCPs) in accordance with HACCP and Food Safety Management Systems.
• Ensure compliance with GMP, HACCP, ISO 22000, and food safety regulations.
• Calibrate and maintain laboratory instruments such as pH meters, refractometers, spectrophotometers, conductivity meters, and weighing balances.
• Record, document, and maintain accurate laboratory test results and quality reports.
• Report non‑conforming products immediately and assist in root cause analysis.
• Support production teams by providing timely quality feedback and corrective actions.
• Monitor sanitation and hygiene standards in laboratory and production areas.
• Verify cleaning and sanitation effectiveness through environmental monitoring.
• Conduct shelf‑life and stability testing of finished products.
• Assist during internal, customer, and external quality audits.
• Ensure proper storage, handling, and disposal of laboratory chemicals and reagents.
• Follow laboratory safety procedures and use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Maintain laboratory cleanliness and ensure all equipment is in good working condition.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and laboratory efficiency.

Diploma/Bachelor's degree in Food Technology, Food Science, Chemistry, Microbiology, Biotechnology, or a related field.

Experience:

25 years in a beverage, soft drink, bottled water, dairy, or food manufacturing company. Experience in multinational FMCG companies such as Pepsi Co, Coca‑Cola, Nestlé, or similar food and beverage manufacturers is highly preferred.
