Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute test plans and test cases for new releases, enhancements, and patches.
  • Perform functional, regression, and integration testing to validate readiness prior to production deployment.
  • Track defects and ensure timely resolution in coordination with development and vendor teams.
  • Develop and execute comprehensive test plans, test scenarios, and test cases for new releases, system enhancements, patches, and configuration changes.
  • Perform functional, regression, integration, system, user acceptance, and end‑to‑end testing to validate system readiness before production deployment.
  • Test core banking applications and related banking systems including customer accounts, deposits, loans, payments, transfers, cards, treasury, trade finance, and digital banking channels.
  • Validate transaction processing, financial calculations, interest calculations, fees, commissions, limits, exchange rates, and accounting entries.
  • Verify integration between core banking systems and external or supporting platforms such as payment gateways, SWIFT, ATM, POS systems, card management systems, mobile banking, internet banking, CRM, AML, and regulatory reporting systems.
  • Ensure that banking transactions are processed accurately across different channels and that all corresponding general ledger entries are correctly generated.
  • Perform API, database, interface, and batch‑processing validation to ensure data accuracy, completeness, and consistency across integrated systems.
  • Test daily, monthly, quarterly, and year‑end banking processes including End‑of‑Day and Beginning‑of‑Day operations.
  • Validate customer onboarding, Know Your Customer requirements, account opening, account maintenance, transaction authorization, and approval workflows.
  • Test role‑based access controls, user permissions, segregation of duties, maker‑checker controls, and transaction approval limits.
  • Verify compliance with internal banking policies, security requirements, audit controls, and applicable regulatory standards.
  • Identify, document, prioritize, and track software defects using approved defect‑management tools.
  • Coordinate with development teams, application support teams, business users, vendors, and project stakeholders to investigate and resolve defects.
  • Perform defect retesting and regression testing to confirm fixes have been implemented successfully without affecting existing functionality.
  • Prepare test execution reports, defect summaries, test coverage reports, and release‑readiness assessments for management review.
  • Participate in requirement reviews, solution‑design discussions, change‑request assessments, and release‑planning activities.
  • Review business and functional requirements to identify gaps, inconsistencies, risks, and testability concerns at an early stage.
  • Support User Acceptance Testing by preparing test scenarios, assisting business users, monitoring execution, and documenting results.
  • Validate data migration, data conversion, reconciliation, and interface mapping during system upgrades and implementation projects.
  • Perform production smoke testing and post‑deployment validation to confirm that critical banking services are operating correctly.
  • Support root‑cause analysis for production incidents and recommend preventive testing measures.
  • Maintain testing documentation, traceability matrices, test evidence, defect records, and sign‑off documentation for audit and compliance purposes.
  • Contribute to test automation initiatives for repetitive regression scenarios, critical banking transactions, and high‑volume test cases.
  • Ensure all testing activities are completed according to approved project timelines, quality standards, change‑management processes, and release‑governance procedures.
Qualifications
  • Hands‑on experience testing banking applications is mandatory, with a strong understanding of banking systems, business processes, and software testing best practices.
  • Minimum years of experience – 3+ years.
