Qualifications and Skills
- Educational Background Degree or diploma in Chemical Engineering Environmental Science Occupational Health and Safety or a related field
- Certifications Relevant certifications such as NEBOSH OSHA or equivalent in Health Safety and Environmental Management Additional qualifications in Quality Management Systems e g ISO 9001 or Laboratory Practices are advantageous
- Technical Expertise Proficiency in chemical safety protocols laboratory procedures and quality control methods Knowledge of chemical handling hazardous materials management and regulatory compliance
- Experience Hands‑on experience in a chemical manufacturing environment or laboratory setting Proven track record of assisting in the implementation and monitoring of QHSE policies and procedures
- Regulatory Knowledge Familiarity with local national and international regulations and standards related to chemical manufacturing and laboratory operations e g OSHA EPA REACH
- Analytical Skills Strong ability to analyze and interpret data prepare reports and ensure adherence to quality and safety standards
- Communication Skills Effective verbal and written communication skills to liaise with various stakeholders including regulatory bodies internal teams and external partners
- Problem‑Solving Ability to identify assess and address potential risks or non‑compliance issues proactively
- Attention to Detail Meticulous approach to monitoring and documentation ensuring accuracy and compliance in all aspects of QHSE management
- Assist in the development implementation and maintenance of QHSE policies and procedures within the chemical manufacturing and laboratory environment
- Support the QAQC team in conducting regular audits inspections and assessments to ensure adherence to regulatory standards and company protocols
- Monitor and report on key performance indicators related to quality health safety and environmental performance
- Facilitate training and awareness programs for staff on QHSE practices safety protocols and emergency procedures
- Maintain up-to-date records of safety incidents compliance issues and corrective actions taken
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to address and resolve QHSE related concerns ensuring continuous improvement and operational excellence .
