What Will Your Day Look Like?The Quality Assurance & Food Safety Supervisor will oversee and lead quality assurance, food safety, and HSE activities within the manufacturing plant. The role is responsible for ensuring that quality, food safety, occupational health, safety, and environmental standards are effectively implemented and maintained across operations.
The incumbent will supervise quality and HSE activities, conduct inspections and audits, identify risks and non-conformities, lead investigations and corrective actions, and ensure compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements, GMP, HACCP, BRC, ISO 45001, and ISO 14001 standards.
The role will also work closely with production, QA, HSE, supply chain, and other functions to promote a strong quality and food safety culture and drive continuous improvement across the site.
How Will You Make an Impact? Quality Assurance & Food Safety- Maintain and continuously improve the company's Food Safety Management System in compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies.
- Implement and maintain food safety procedures, including HACCP, BRC, and applicable prerequisite programs.
- Ensure all quality control procedures are strictly followed throughout every stage of the production process.
- Conduct regular inspections of incoming raw materials, in-process materials, and finished products to ensure compliance with defined specifications.
- Ensure adherence to applicable food safety, quality, hygiene, and regulatory standards.
- Work closely with the QA team to integrate food safety requirements into the overall Quality Management System.
- Monitor supplier performance and verify compliance with food safety and quality requirements.
- Ensure non-conforming raw materials do not enter production and defective or non-conforming finished goods do not reach customers.
- Identify quality and food safety deviations and ensure appropriate corrective and preventive actions are implemented.
- Ensure the workplace complies with GMP and 5S standards.
- Ensure adherence to hygiene and uniform requirements in line with company policies and standards.
- Maintain appropriate documentation, records, and reports related to quality and food safety activities.
- Conduct internal audits, quality inspections, GMP inspections, and food safety audits across manufacturing and operational areas.
- Support and coordinate internal and external audits and ensure timely closure of audit findings.
- Conduct risk assessments and safety inspections to identify potential hazards and areas for improvement.
- Ensure corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) are implemented and monitored effectively.
- Maintain accurate audit trails, inspection records, and compliance documentation.
- Ensure adherence to all relevant Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental procedures, instructions, and controls.
- Implement and maintain occupational HSE standards and practices across the manufacturing site.
- Develop and implement site-specific safety plans and emergency response procedures.
- Lead and coordinate HSE activities with technicians and other relevant departments.
- Conduct and support incident investigations using root cause analysis, 5 Whys, and other investigation methodologies.
- Ensure timely completion of incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.
- Support the implementation and sustainability of ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 standards.
- Monitor HSE performance against company KPIs, including zero fatalities, zero LTIs, and reduction of LTIFR.
- Promote workforce engagement, hazard reporting, and a positive HSE culture.
- Ensure employees participate in mandatory HSE training and toolbox talks.
- Identify and report any potential workplace hazards, unsafe conditions, or environmental concerns.
- Lead, supervise, and manage QA and HSE technicians and support the development of team capabilities.
- Coordinate with production and other departments to ensure effective implementation of quality, food safety, and HSE requirements.
- Conduct or coordinate training on food safety, GMP, hygiene, HSE, emergency response, and applicable company procedures.
- Ensure employee participation in mandatory HSE and food safety training programs.
- Promote awareness and accountability for quality, food safety, health, safety, and environmental standards across the workforce.
