Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities The Van Driver is responsible for the safe and timely delivery of FMCG products to customers, retail outlets, supermarkets, and distributors. The role ensures proper handling of goods, accurate documentation, route planning, vehicle maintenance, and excellent customer service while adhering to company policies and road safety regulations.
** Key Responsibilities
**** 1. Product Delivery
*** Deliver FMCG products to assigned customers and retail outlets according to the delivery schedule.
* Ensure accurate loading and unloading of goods.
* Verify product quantities against invoices and delivery notes.
* Obtain customer signatures and proof of delivery.
** 2. Vehicle Operations
*** Drive company vehicles safely and responsibly.
* Conduct daily vehicle inspections before and after trips.
* Maintain vehicle cleanliness and report any mechanical issues immediately.
* Ensure compliance with traffic laws and company safety standards.
** 3. Documentation & Cash Handling
*** Maintain delivery records, route sheets, and vehicle logs.
* Collect cash, cheques, or payments from customers where applicable.
* Submit sales collections and delivery documents to the accounts department.
* Ensure all transactions are accurately recorded.
** 4. Inventory Control
*** Verify stock loaded onto the vehicle before departure.
* Report shortages, damages, or discrepancies.
* Ensure proper handling and storage of products during transportation.
* Return unsold, damaged, or expired goods as per company procedures.
** 5. Customer Service
*** Maintain professional relationships with customers.
* Address customer queries and delivery concerns courteously.
* Communicate customer feedback and market information to the sales team.
** 6. Route Management
*** Follow assigned delivery routes efficiently.
* Plan routes to maximize delivery efficiency and reduce transportation costs.
* Meet daily delivery targets and schedules.

Desired Candidate Profile
** Required Qualifications
*** High School Diploma or equivalent.
* Valid driving license suitable for commercial vehicles.
* Minimum 2 years' experience as a delivery or van driver, preferably in the FMCG industry.
* Good knowledge of local roads and delivery routes.

* Basic numerical and record-keeping abilities.
