Meaningful work and personal impact:
As a Warehouseman/MHE Operator, you provide essential support to warehousing and distribution operations by safely operating forklifts and other MHE to load, unload, transport, and stage equipment. Your work ensures safe throughput of supplies, equipment accountability, and uninterrupted support to sustainment and logistics missions across the operational environment.
How you will make an impact:
- Operate Material Handling Equipment (MHE) safely and in accordance with certification requirements and regulations.
- Assist Stock Clerks with selecting, issuing, receiving, and turning in equipment.
- Receive incoming cargo and verify documentation including manifests and turn-in forms.
- Perform unloading and loading of equipment from incoming shipments.
- Transport and stock equipment according to warehouse layout and assigned locations.
- Conduct daily PMCS of forklifts and government furnished equipment (GFE).
- Provide customer service support to units and personnel.
- Operate MHE and government-owned vehicles to move equipment and materials.
- Perform equipment staging, organization, and accountability operations.
- Support documentation, labeling, and preparation of cargo for movement.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, DoD, Army, and Host Nation safety requirements.
- Participate in safe handling and storage of HAZMAT as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Work is performed both indoors and outdoors, requiring lifting up to 70 lbs, stooping, climbing, prolonged standing, and prolonged sitting. Workers may be exposed to cuts, scrapes, bruises, and other hazards associated with material handling. Protective Clothing and Equipment (PCE) is required in accordance with OSHA standards.
PhysicalActivities:
Work requires physical endurance, including lifting, bending, climbing, extended standing/sitting, and safely operating MHE in dynamic warehouse or yard environments.
Minimum Qualifications:- High school diploma and 6 yrs experience. One-year related experience may substitute for one year of military experience. Must possess knowledge of forklift operation and safety procedures. Must be proficient in speaking and reading English.
- Minimum six months of military or civilian experience as a forklift or MHE operator. Experience in warehouse, port, or logistics environments preferred.
- Ability to safely operate 4K–10K forklifts, diesel and automatic transmission equipment.
- Knowledge of equipment maintenance, load handling, and safety compliance.
- Understanding of warehouse operations, cargo flow, and material storage procedures.
- Ability to follow instructions, maintain accountability, and support inventory accuracy.
- Team communication, coordination, and situational awareness.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Valid US and Host Nation driver’s license.
- Active U.S. SECRET clearance.
- Valid U.S. passport (minimum 2 years validity, 4 blank pages).
- Ability to pass CRC requirements and work a 48-hour workweek.
- Willingness to deploy to Iraq, Kuwait, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Qatar, UAE, or other assigned areas.
Certifications:
- Forklift/MHE operator license or ability to obtain.
- HAZMAT/HAZCOM certification as required.
- All required OSHA, AT, OPSEC, and safety training.
