Storekeeper

Responsibilities

• Receive incoming materials, equipment and supplies and verify quantities and quality against purchase orders and delivery notes.
• Inspect all received items and report any shortages, damages or discrepancies to the Purchasing Department.
• Store materials in designated locations following proper storage procedures and safety requirements.
• Issue materials, tools and equipment based on approved requisitions.
• Maintain accurate inventory records in both manual and computerized inventory systems.
• Conduct regular stock counts and participate in periodic physical inventory audits.
• Monitor inventory levels and notify the department concerned when stocks reach reorder levels.
• Ensure proper labeling, identification and organization of all stored items.
• Maintain clean, safe and orderly warehouses and storage areas.
• Prepare and maintain reports related to stock movement, inventory levels and material transactions.
• Coordinate with procurement, logistics and other departments regarding material availability and deliveries.
• Monitor shelf life and expiry dates where applicable and ensure proper stock rotation (FIFO, FEFO).
• Safeguard company assets and ensure secure storage of materials and equipment.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

• Bachelor s degree in business administration, commerce or a related field.
• Candidates with a Diploma in Warehouse Management, Logistics and Supply Chain Management, or a related field may also be considered.
• Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in warehouse or store keeping operations.
• Experience using inventory management or ERP systems is preferred.
• Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.
• Good understanding of inventory control and warehouse procedures.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Basic mathematical and record-keeping skills.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
• Knowledge of warehouse safety practices.
• Physical ability to lift and move materials when required.
