Location:

Seton Medical Center Hays area; fast-growing region south of Austin, Kyle, Buda, and surrounding areas.

Responsibilities

• 8 physicians / APP daily hospitalist team
• Dedicated nocturnist
• 7 on / 7 off schedule
• 12 hour APP shifts
• Semi-closed ICU

Hospital and Center Details

• Hospital:
  Seton Medical Center Hays – 112 beds, newer facility designed to grow to nearly 300 beds
• Level II Trauma Center;
  Certified Stroke, Chest Pain, and STEMI Center
• Cardiac care services including open heart surgery and 24/7 cardiac catheterization lab

Location and Community

Located a few miles south of Austin;
Kyle and Buda are growing communities with easy access to San Marcos and San Antonio.

Emergency Department

• Trauma Designation:
  Level II
• ED Beds: 30
• ED Admission Rate: 17%
• Care model: 8-9 hour physician shifts with 48-51 hours of coverage; APP coverage 22-32 hours/day; average 1.8 patients/hr
• EMR:
  Cerner
• Certified pediatric readiness

Critical Care

• ICU Beds: 32
• EMR:
  Cerner
• ICU scope includes medical, surgical, trauma, neurosurgery, primary stroke center, heart program
• 24-hour advanced nurse practitioners capable of performing all ICU procedures

Observation Unit

• Brand-new, 17-bed unit
