Aveanna Healthcare Private Duty Nurse RN – Part Time/Full Time – Days or Nights
Aveanna Healthcare invites applications for a Registered Nurse (RN) to provide private duty nursing care on a part‑time or full‑time basis. Shifts can be scheduled during days, nights or weekends to accommodate patient needs and nurse availability.
Position OverviewAs an RN, you will deliver and document skilled nursing care in accordance with the care plan and physician orders for each patient, while maintaining confidentiality and professional standards at all times.
Essential Job Functions- Deliver and coordinate quality patient care per physician orders.
- Observe, assess, and report changes in patient condition to supervisor or physician.
- Document all activities, assessments, nursing actions, and care coordination promptly.
- Develop, implement, and update nursing care plans.
- Take appropriate nursing action based on assessment to achieve expected outcomes.
- Recognize changes in patient needs or responses and intervene to prevent or reduce risk.
- Comply with Aveanna policies, state and federal regulations, accrediting bodies, and the Nurse Practice Act.
- Use infection control measures that comply with OSHA standards to protect staff and patients.
- Educate patients and families about disease processes, self‑care techniques, and prevention strategies.
- Maintain competency through continuing education, internal learning programs, and skill evaluations.
- Graduate of an accredited Diploma, Associate, or Baccalaureate School of Nursing.
- Current, unrestricted state license as an RN in the state of practice.
- Current CPR certification.
- Demonstrated proficiency in clinical assessments, documentation, and compliance with nursing care policies.
- Six (6) months of recent experience as a Licensed Nurse in a clinical care setting.
- Home health experience.
- Medical Oncology, Ambulatory, Medical Surgical, or Peri‑Operative Care RN experience as applicable.
- Experience in pediatric or specific specialty areas (e.g., pediatrics, oncology, surgery) as required by state.

- Speak, read, write, and understand English.

- Lift up to 50 lbs.

- Sit and climb stairs.
- Possess adequate visual and hearing acuity.
- Use strong sense of smell and touch.
- Reposition patients and move equipment without assistance.
- Respond physically and mentally to emergency situations in the home or during transport.
- Work within diverse environments that may involve allergens or other conditions.
- Possible exposure to blood, bodily fluids, and infectious diseases.
