All about On Demand:
You can work as much or as little as you like as an On-Demand Team Member (TM) and your schedule may vary depending on shift availability and store needs. This role is ideal for those that are looking for a personalized work schedule.

As an On-Demand TM, you will not be included on the posted weekly schedule, but you will have the opportunity to create your own schedule by picking up shifts posted by leaders or other team members (via our myTime mobile scheduling app) that work best with your schedule. Attendance and engagement are required: pick up shifts once every 4 weeks (minimum of four hours), respond to contact attempts to confirm interest, and ensure you work at least one shift within 5 months to avoid administrative termination.

Should you be offered a position as an On-Demand TM, you will be required to attend a Target Welcome orientation and commit to a short-term structured training schedule. After that, the myTime mobile scheduling app is used to pick up shifts.

• Demonstrate a service culture that prioritizes the guest service experience by delivering the service standard.
• Create a welcoming experience by greeting guests and assisting with daily tasks.
• Assist guests in a welcoming way to solve their specific needs and be knowledgeable about tools, products, and services.
• Be aware of all store offerings and how to direct guests to enroll, activate, and use fulfillments services.
• Understand and show guests how to use Wallet and Target App features.
• Handle returns following register prompts and escalate to leadership when needed to resolve issues while following policies and procedures.
• De-escalate situations and recover the guest shopping experience per policies and procedures.
• Deliver accurate service for Order Pick Up, Drive Up, and Registry guests.
• Maintain a clean, clutter-free work area and stock supplies during store hours.
• Support guest services and compliance, including adult beverage laws where applicable.
• Support cash office processes as needed, including management of cash systems.
• All other duties based on business needs.

Skills and expectations include effective communication, ability to stay focused in a fast-paced environment, a welcoming attitude, attention to detail, and the ability to educate guests about products and services. Ability to operate handheld scanners and technology equipment; work independently and with a team.

• Ability to accurately handle cash register operations and support cash office as needed.
• Ability to scan, handle, and move merchandise safely, including lifting up to 10 pounds frequently and up to 44 pounds occasionally with assistance.
• Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Active engagement by picking up and working shifts to meet store needs; failure to work a shift within 5 months may result in termination.
• Mobility to remain active for the duration of a scheduled shift and tolerance of varying temperatures and conditions as required by duties such as Drive-Up, carryout, etc.
