General Handyman – Warehouse Maintenance

Job Title: General Handyman / Warehouse Maintenance Technician

Requirement :
Must be available to travel to San Antonio once a week and have forklift experience

Position Summary

We are seeking a dependable and hands-on General Handyman to assist with the maintenance, repairs, and general upkeep of our warehouse facility. The ideal candidate will have basic knowledge of building maintenance, repairs, and the ability to handle various maintenance tasks to ensure the warehouse remains safe, clean, organized, and fully operational.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform general maintenance and minor repairs throughout the warehouse facility.
• Repair and maintain doors, locks, hinges, shelving, fixtures, and other warehouse equipment.
• Perform basic plumbing repairs, including fixing leaks and unclogging drains.
• Assist with basic electrical maintenance, such as replacing light bulbs and fixtures when qualified and authorized.
• Perform minor painting, drywall repairs, patching, and general building improvements.
• Inspect warehouse areas to identify maintenance issues and potential safety hazards.
• Maintain warehouse floors, walls, restrooms, break rooms, and common areas as needed.
• Assist with assembling, installing, and relocating shelves, racks, furniture, and equipment.
• Maintain outdoor areas, including entrances, walkways, and surrounding property.
• Keep maintenance tools and supplies clean, organized, and properly stored.
• Respond to maintenance requests in a timely manner.
• Assist with general warehouse projects and other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Previous experience in general maintenance, handyman work, or facility maintenance preferred.
• Basic knowledge of plumbing, carpentry, painting, and general repairs.
• Ability to safely operate basic hand and power tools.
• Ability to identify maintenance concerns and determine when specialized assistance is needed.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Dependable, punctual, and able to follow instructions.
• Ability to communicate effectively with supervisors and warehouse personnel.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and reach for extended periods.
• Ability to work on ladders and elevated surfaces when properly trained and authorized.
• Ability to work in a warehouse environment with varying temperatures and noise levels.
• Must follow all company safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).

Safety Responsibilities

• Follow all warehouse safety policies and procedures.
• Identify and report unsafe conditions, damaged equipment, and potential hazards.
• Use tools and equipment properly and safely.
• Never perform electrical, mechanical, or specialized repairs without the proper training and authorization.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area at all times.

General Expectations

The General Handyman is expected to demonstrate reliability, initiative, and a willingness to assist wherever maintenance support is needed. This position plays an important role in maintaining a safe, functional, and well-maintained warehouse environment.
