This position serves as the primary parking enforcement officer for UWL Parking Services. The priority responsibilities are to patrol assigned parking areas, enforce compliance with UWL parking rules and regulations, and issue citations. The officer identifies maintenance issues and performs regular upkeep on parking equipment and parking lots/ramps. The officer also educates students, faculty, staff, and visitors on rules and regulations.

The ability to communicate with a diverse population and use effective customer service skills is required. The primary work hours are Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Evenings, weekends, holidays, and coverage of special events may be required.
* Assist with front office tasks, including customer interaction, answering phones, processing payments, opening, and closing the office, as needed.
* Maintain knowledge of departmental policies and procedures, rules and regulations, and other issued directives.
* Provide input to improve Parking Services operations, policies, and procedures.
* Actively communicate with Parking Services staff.
* Assist with and provide support for special event parking.
* Report problems, disturbances, suspicious persons, or activities to police.
* Inspect the condition of parking lots/ramps during daily patrols and report to the supervisor any conditions that require maintenance or repair.
* Maintain campus parking lots/ramps/equipment. Examples of tasks include: checking lots for damage and missing/damaged signs, disposing of trash, troubleshooting and maintaining parking meter, meter collection, and other cleaning and maintenance duties as required.
* Maintain and inspect required equipment on a daily basis, including vehicles assigned to Parking Services. Arrange for service and repairs, as required.
* Minimum of high school diploma.
* Excellent customer service experience and skills.
* Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communications skills and the ability to interact with a broad range of people are essential for the position.
* Excellent computer/technology skills.
* Demonstrated ability to set priorities and manage multiple tasks.
* Make appropriate, quick decisions and exercise good judgment.
* Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and accuracy.
* Possess a valid driver’s license. Authorization to drive a UWL vehicle is required.
* A criminal background check is required.
* Knowledge of parking technology (T2, Patroller, and Security Center).
* Experience directing traffic and providing directions.
* Knowledge of maintenance and repairs typically required for parking lots/ramps (sign repair/replacement, lot painting, asphalt and concrete repair, pressure washing, and meter operation).
