Civil Engineering & Construction Materials Testing Co-op; La Crosse

Overview

Join to apply for the 2026 Civil Engineering & Construction Materials Testing 6-month Co-op (La Crosse) role at Braun Intertec Corporation. This Co-op offers in-depth technical training and industry certifications upon successful completion of examinations and demonstration of ability. As a Co-op, you will perform testing on construction materials such as soils, concrete, masonry, and asphalt on onsite projects and work with project managers and other technicians to ensure specifications are followed.

• Perform field and laboratory testing on construction materials (soils, concrete, masonry, asphalt).
• Coordinate with project managers and technicians to ensure specifications are followed.
• Gain valuable field experience and onsite communication with construction crews.
• Participate in a multi-day training event including safety, soil classification, ACI certification, radiation safety, materials lab and nuclear density gauge training.
• Learn procedures and gain exposure to ASTM, AASHTO, ACI, ICC, and DOT standards.
• Be paired with a professional engineer mentor during the experience.

• A high school diploma or equivalent.
• A valid driver's license and clean driving record for the last 3 years.
• The ability to commit full-time for 6 months from mid-May to December.
• The ability to lift 75+ pounds.
• A “working safe” attitude and mindset.
• The ability to work overtime and weekends as necessary.

• College student pursuing an engineering or construction management degree or related field.
• Experience driving a pickup truck or other large vehicle(s).
• Some work-related experience (landscaping, construction, farming, etc.).
• Mechanical aptitude with practical problem-solving skills.
• Some related work experience preferred, but training will be provided for top applicants.
