The Construction Administrator ensures project efficiency, accuracy, and smooth communication—ultimately supporting successful, on‑time, and on‑budget project delivery. At River Architects, the Construction Administrator supports project teams by coordinating documentation, communication, and administrative processes throughout the construction lifecycle. This role ensures projects adhere to contractual requirements, schedules, budgets, and compliance standards. The ideal candidate is detail‑oriented, highly organized, and capable of working collaboratively with contractors, architects, engineers, and internal stakeholders.
PrimaryResponsibilities
- Facilitate a high level of communication between the client and project team.
- Respond to contractor’s requests for information, clarifications, and changes.
- Track and document changes in construction documents.
- Review shop drawings and product information.
- Conduct on‑site observations and prepare field reports and records.
- Work closely with the Project Architect/Director regarding on‑going status, completion and closeout.
- Assemble and verify construction contract change order information for approval.
- Review contractor payment requests for preparation of Certificate of Payment.
- Coordinate, communicate, and track construction status and issues with our consultant team.
- Conduct and/or participate in project status meetings.
- Involvement in Quality Assurance reviews of pending projects using lessons‑learned approach.
- Travel to job sites will be required, therefore, a valid driver’s license with a good driving record is necessary.
- Must be able to walk construction sites and comply with safety requirements.
- A post‑secondary degree in architecture or construction management is preferred, but relevant experience may be accepted in lieu of degree.
- Substantial design and/or construction experience, as well as an understanding of commercial construction processes, techniques and methods, is a prerequisite.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills plus a high degree of time management and organizational competence.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Word and Excel, is required, and knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit is preferred.
- Experience using Bluebeam.
- Must have a high level of personal and professional integrity and be accountable for all actions.
- Be able to relate and communicate effectively with an array of personalities and cultures.
- Exercise the utmost discretion in dealing with potentially sensitive issues.
- Must project a strong professional presence in appearance, actions, and personal demeanor in representing River Architects and our client.
- Must have the ability to work in a fast‑paced environment.
