Job DescriptionSchool Age Leaders provide opportunities for enrichment, physicalactivity, healthy eating, and positive relationships forelementary students in a before and after-school programbased in the elementary schools in the La Crosse, Onalaska,and Holmen school districts. We are looking to grow our teamwho will influence the future of our community!
Responsibilities:
- Facilitate fun and engaging group activities such as games, sports, arts andcrafts, and STEM activities
- Build relationships with elementary students and families
- Ensuresupervision and safety of participants
- Providementorship for participants and maintain behaviorexpectations for elementary students usingpositive guidance techniques
- Ensure healthysnacks are distributed daily as part of the Y’s Youth Food Program
- Positions available during the school year, Monday-Friday, 6-25 hoursper week
- Canwork up to two shifts a day: 6:00-8:15 am and 3:00-6:00pm
- School Age Leaders will work on-site at an elementaryschool in the La Crosse, Onalaska, or Holmen school districts
- Atleast 18 years of age with a high school diploma or at least 16 years of age with additional training provided
- CPR certification within 3 months of hire date
- Some child development courses or experience preferred
- Reliability andclear communication
- Able to work effectively in a team
