the college of arts, social sciences, and humanities ( cassh ) includes departments and programs in the humanities, social sciences and interdisciplinary studies, as well departments in the school of visual and performing arts ( vpa ). Cassh / vpa continues the established liberal studies tradition of providing curricula leading to the bachelor of arts or the bachelor of science degree.

cassh / vpa is dedicated to providing quality innovative instruction and creative learning experiences which prepares students for future careers and education. More broadly, such learning allows students to continue to develop meaningful, responsible lives. position summary

under general supervision of the school psychology program director, a person in this position is responsible for teaching graduate courses in the school psychology program. In addition to preparing for and holding classes (face-to-face, hybrid, and/or online), teaching involves maintaining currency in the content area related to the teaching assignment, evaluating students’ work, assessing student outcomes, maintaining appropriate records, and holding office hours.

In addition, workload may involve advising students and/or providing other service to the department. Other duties may be assigned by the program director, chair or dean.

the school psychology program invites applications from qualified candidates to teach course(s) when the need arises due to staffing changes or programmatic needs.

the school psychology program, based on components of the nasp practice model, offers graduate psychology courses in areas consistent with licensing expectations. Teaching assignments are traditionally arranged for one term but can be renewed based on program needs.

required qualifications

positions for graduate school psychology courses require a master’s or education specialist degree in school psychology or related area and are licensed or licensed-eligible to practice as a school psychologist.

all persons hired for academic instruction will be required to submit all of their official copies of their transcripts to human resources upon hire.

preferred qualifications

doctorate degrees are preferred. Additional criteria considered upon review of applicants includes relevant teaching experience, commitment to quality instruction, and/or professional experience germane to the course content.
