Radiation Therapist | Casual On‑Call (Gundersen Health System)
Emplify Health by Gundersen is seeking a skilled and dedicated individual to join our Radiation Oncology team as a casual on‑call Radiation Therapist supporting our La Crosse and Tomah locations.

Our physician‑led, not‑for‑profit healthcare system includes a 325‑bed teaching hospital, Level II Trauma Center, community clinics, affiliate hospitals, and a range of service centers.
Key Responsibilities- Operate radiation therapy equipment to precisely simulate and treat patients with prescribed doses of ionizing radiation as directed by the Radiation Oncologist.
- Organize daily treatment and simulation schedules in cooperation with other therapists and the departmental secretary to ensure efficient department operation.
- Perform daily warm‑up of all equipment according to department policies and maintain supplies in the treatment room, simulator room, and film stock.
- Execute routine beam‑on time or monitor setting calculations and have them reviewed by the Radiation Oncologist and Radiation Physicist per departmental protocols.
- Casual On‑Call (non‑benefit eligible position)
- 8‑12 week training/orientation at both La Crosse and Tomah locations
- 8‑hour day shifts, Monday through Friday; no weekends, call, or holiday duty
- Must work a minimum of 3 shifts per quarter, with flexibility to pick up additional shifts as desired/available
- Starting pay $33.35 per hour and up, commensurate with experience
- Associate degree in Radiotherapy Technology from an accredited school or 120 credit hours toward a JCERT‑accredited bachelor program
- ARRT‑T (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists – Radiation Therapy) certification within three months of hire date
- Current Infant‑Adult Basic Life Support for Health Care Providers (with hands‑on learning) from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to provide compassionate and empathetic care to patients
- Effective communication skills to interact with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals and staff
- Previous Radiation Therapy experience preferred but not required
