Infection Prevention/Staff Development (LPN/RN)
This role monitors infections, educates staff on infection control, and coordinates staff development programs.
Job SummaryLa Grande Post Acute Rehab is seeking an Infection Prevention Nurse/Staff Development Coordinator (LPN/RN) to track and monitor infections, educate staff on infection control policies, and administer staff development programs.
Essential Functions Infection Prevention Nurse- Interprets and implements established facility policies, procedures and regulations
- Observes and teaches the facility infection control policies and procedures
- Demonstrates consistent ability to identify issues
- Participates and contributes meaningful information in all meetings relating to resident care and QA/QI in the facility
- Maintains all records and data in a neat, organized manner for prompt retrieval
- Evaluates resident and staff training needs, and provides recommendations to the Executive Director (ED) and DNS
- Interprets and implements established Center policies, processes, and regulations for nursing staff
- Plans and provides an annual schedule of planned education programs
- Maintains current education records and attendance of nursing and other employees
- Maintains an education profile for each nursing employee listing each class attended, date, time period, and evaluation of performance
- Observes and teaches the Center safety policies and processes to nursing staff
- Obtains continuing education relating to the care of the geriatric resident and nursing education
- Demonstrates consistent ability to identify problems, report objectively, and take corrective action
- Required:
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing - Required:
Current LPN or RN licensure in the state of employment - Preferred:
One‑year experience with infection control - Preferred:
Two years' experience in nursing; one year in long‑term care - Experience supervising
- Demonstrated knowledge of nursing process, particularly as it relates to geriatric residents, long‑term care, and rehabilitation
