Hyster Mechanic

The purpose of the Mechanics position is to perform a diversified list of duties including perform corrective and preventative maintenance on a variety of rolling stock {i.e. lift trucks, Genie Boom lifts, scissor lifts, diesel fire pumps, pickups and small gas engine equipment, wheel loaders, skid steers, etc.), Utilize a work order system to track maintenance and schedule preventative maintenance and all other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

• A minimum of three (3) years verifiable mechanic experience
• Applicants must be able to work all shifts and pass a pre-employment criminal background check, drug test and physical assessment.
• Applicants must be able to walk and stand for long periods of time, bend, kneel, stoop, squat, twist and work in other awkward positions.
• Proficiency in written communication is important as the mechanic must be able to comprehend written instructions and follow directions from shop manuals.
• Applicants must have hands on experience with:
  • Engine troubleshooting ( diesel, gas and LPG)
  • Welding and fabricating.
  • Basic knowledge of hydraulic pumps and components.
  • Automotive electrical and electronic systems.
  • Brake, exhaust, fuel {gas, diesel, propane) and cooling systems.
  • Automatic transmissions.
  • Differentials.
  • Parts ordering and parts inventory.
  • Maintaining and servicing plant rolling stock (i.e. fork lifts, Genie Boom lifts, scissor lifts, diesel fire pumps, pickups and small gas engine equipment, wheel loaders, skid steers, etc.).
  • Reading and understanding service manuals.
