Job Description:

Staff Physician - PRN

Job Summary:

Maintains responsibility for the delivery of clinical primary care, specialty care, urgent care, or occupational medicine services.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

The following summarizes the major functions of this position. Additional duties may be performed as needed, and specific functions may change over time.

  • Provides daily physician management and treatment of patients at the Clinic/Practice.
  • Provides clinical services to patients, including diagnosis, treatment, and referral.
  • Participates in establishing office policies, procedures, and medical protocols necessary to provide physician clinic services.
  • Refers patients appropriately to medical specialists.
  • Complies with BHMG policies, procedures, and pricing.
  • Utilizes program forms/EPIC computer system for charting.
  • Follows case management protocols.
  • Assists with the clinic/practice's quality assurance and quality improvement plans.
  • Works with administration to ensure the program operates in accordance with medical policies and current professional standards.
  • Participates in community events and public relations activities as time permits, which may occasionally occur outside regular office hours.
  • Maintains appropriate telephone contact with patients, payers, and pharmacies.
  • Performs physical exams such as routine exams, DOT exams, post-offer exams, executive physicals, CDL exams, annual exams, and school/sport physicals, as applicable.
  • May serve as Medical Review Officer (MRO) for drug screens.
  • May serve as Director for on-site Laboratory services if applicable.
  • Minimum Education, Training, and Experience

    Required:
    • Current valid and unrestricted license to practice in Kentucky.
    • Current valid and unrestricted DEA registration number.
    • Eligible at all times for professional liability insurance.
    • Board Certified or Board Eligible in the appropriate specialty.
    • BCLS certification required.
