Summary
The Pharmacist, Central Fulfillment Specialist is responsible and accountable for the provision of safe, effective, and prompt medication delivery and distribution. This role will assist in maintaining the pharmacy centralized services in accordance with departmental standards, internal and external reporting requirements, accreditation standards, and pharmacy laws and regulations. The Pharmacist, Central Fulfillment Specialist organizes, supervises, directs, and verifies functions performed by technicians and interns to ensure the provision of accurate, efficient, and appropriate drug distribution services or prescription fulfillment.
Job DescriptionBaptist Health is looking for a Pharmacist, Central Distribution to join our team at the Central Pharmacy in LaGrange, KY.
- Performs all tasks associated with medication warehouse distribution or prescription fulfillment: receiving, screening, reviewing, scanning, distribution, prescription fulfillment, packing, auditing and shipping medications to BH facility affiliates or patients.
- Performs medication review, product verification and quality checks and takes necessary actions to ensure accuracy and appropriateness of medications.
- Verifies entry of accurate medication into different automated distribution or fulfillment systems.
- Leverages technology to optimize workflow and to perform all required tasks.
- Able to assess daily workflow needs, identify gaps and provide coverage where needed.
- Assists in resolving and /or troubleshooting system related problems and issues that may arise by reviewing, gathering information, calling systems tech support.
- Supports the efficient workflow of the pharmacy and assists the pharmacy team in identifying ways to optimize pharmacy financials, inventory management and enhance processes.
- Responsible for providing oversight over technicians.
- Assists in training new staff.
- Assists in the maintenance of pharmacy automation systems.
- Assists in inventory management processes including order review, performing compliant receiving, inventory returns, restocking shelves, and physical inventory preparation.
- Maintains compliance with cold chain and room temperature prescription packaging requirements based on seasonal pack-out changes.
- Bachelor's degree in pharmacy or Doctorate of Pharmacy required.
- Kentucky Board of Pharmacy and Indiana Board of Pharmacy license or willing and eligible to achieve.
