Jazz Dance Instructor

Jazz Instructor Position Job Summary

We are looking for a part-time jazz dance instructor with strong proficiency in teaching advanced jazz curriculum and advanced leaps & turns technique classes. We need an instructor who can commit to a weekly schedule of at least 1 day per week in the evenings with the potential for more hours and responsibility in the future.

• Excellent character, dependable, and punctual
• Strong proficiency in jazz is a must (ballet or lyrical experience a plus but not required)
• Experience with training advanced students in technique classes such as leaps & turns or stretch & strength.
• Ability to manage and nurture a group class with a balance between discipline, care, and respect
• Experience choreographing for recitals
• Willingness to assist with recitals and dress rehearsals
• Interest in continuous learning and working together with a team of instructors
• Dance degree or professional experience not required but a strong plus

• Prepare class curriculum for structured and appropriately challenging classes
• Work with age-appropriate music and choreography for recital routines
• Execute relevant, motivational and inspiration classes for aspiring dancers
• Maintain class discipline with respect
• Attend monthly staff meetings (flexible)

$20-$35/ hour

* Rate of pay is determined by various factors, including but not limited to knowledge, skills, experience, and education.
