Senior Data Analyst

Dental group with 20 offices and 300 employees is seeking a senior data analyst to help develop, implement and maintain a standardized set of data analytic tools, reports and dashboards throughout the company to support data driven decision making.

Among other duties, this job will entail:

  • Pulling data from various data sources
  • Being an Excel ninja who can slice and dice the data with vLookups, pivot tables etc
  • Creating dashboards to effectively communicate information to various stakeholders
  • Designing data, information and metrics to assist teams in making data driven decisions
  • These and other duties will be required for all departments across the organization including:

  • Marketing
  • Finance
  • Operations
  • Revenue Cycle
  • Call Center
  • Executive
  • Human Resources
  • Our ideal candidate has the experience required to take high level instructions and break them down into actionable tasks AND ALSO the ability to roll up their sleeves and jump in to get work done.     In addition to the duties above, the data analyst will be required to perform a variety of other duties as determined over time by management.

    Since this is a new position at the company, the role will currently report directly to the CEO. In the future the role may sit in either the Finance or Marketing department.

    Position Overview:

    We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Data Analyst to join our dynamic team at Gold Coast Dental. This individual will play a critical role in transforming complex data into actionable insights to drive data-driven decision-making and support business growth. The Senior Data Analyst will collaborate with various departments, including finance, operations, marketing, and clinical teams, to identify trends, measure performance, and optimize key business processes in a dental healthcare setting.

    Key Responsibilities:
    • Data Analysis & Reporting:
      Conduct in-depth analysis of large datasets related to patient care, financials, operational efficiency, and marketing efforts. Provide comprehensive and insightful reports for management and key stakeholders.
    • Data Visualization:
      Create clear, concise, and visually appealing dashboards and reports using BI tools like Tableau, Power BI, or similar, to present findings and recommendations.
    • Operational Optimization:
      Identify trends and insights to optimize clinic operations, including scheduling, patient flow, inventory management, and staffing. Provide actionable recommendations for improving efficiency.
    • Patient Insights & Retention:
      Analyze patient data (e.g., demographics, treatment patterns, appointment history) to support patient retention strategies and improve overall patient satisfaction.
    • Financial Analysis:
      Analyze revenue, expenses, and profitability across different dental practices. Monitor key financial KPIs (e.g., average revenue per patient, cost per procedure) and provide insights to support strategic decision-making.
    • Data Quality & Integrity:
      Ensure the accuracy, completeness, and integrity of all data used for analysis. Work with IT to implement data validation processes and troubleshoot any data issues.
    • Collaborative Projects:
      Work cross-functionally with clinical, operational, and marketing teams to identify opportunities for data-driven improvement. Provide support on ad hoc data requests and strategic initiatives.
    • Training & Mentorship:
      Mentor junior data analysts and train staff on data tools and best practices for data analysis. Promote a data-driven culture across the organization.
    Qualifications:
    • Education:

      Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or related field a plus.
    • Experience:

      5+ years of experience in data analysis, preferably in healthcare or dental industry settings. Proven experience working with large datasets and performing statistical analysis.
