Under general supervision and in collaboration with Information Services, administers and supports cardiology clinical information systems, servers, and workstations across multiple on-site and remote locations. Responsibilities focus on day-to-day operational support, including system monitoring, user and storage management, network and connectivity support, quality and performance monitoring, study and patient information management, and hands-on troubleshooting of hardware, software, and infrastructure issues to maintain continuous clinical operations.
Works directly with physicians, nurses, technologists, and other clinical staff to identify, document, and resolve technical and workflow issues affecting patient care. Collects and tracks user-reported problems, performs root-cause analysis, and implements practical system configuration or workflow adjustments based on clinical needs. Maintains clear, professional communication during high-pressure clinical situations, prioritizing patient safety and operational continuity.
Provides real-time, on-site troubleshooting of clinical systems, workstations, peripherals, and workflows within procedural and diagnostic environments. The role is centered on immediate issue resolution at the point of care and requires regular physical presence in clinical areas. Most work is hands-on and operational, with limited emphasis on research, administrative, or strategic activities.
Evaluates existing and evolving clinical workflows to identify inefficiencies or operational risks and proposes incremental, implementable improvements aligned with clinical operations and technical constraints.
Performs routine and emergent desktop-level technical support, including diagnosis and resolution of common hardware, operating system, peripheral, and network issues. Provides user training and in-services; supports security administration; develops and maintains operational policies, procedures, and downtime contingency plans; identifies system optimization and cost-saving opportunities; and serves as liaison between cardiology information systems and Medical Center stakeholders. Provides on-site support, mentoring, and problem management across both local and remote environments as operational needs evolve.
MINIMUMQUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in a related area and/or equivalent experience/training.
3 or more years of relevant experience.
2 or more years working in a healthcare system.
Must possess the skills, knowledge and abilities essential to the successful performance of the duties assigned to the position.
Proven success with information systems implementation, development, problem-solving, and support within a large-scale organization.
Experience implementing VMware systems (ESXi Server, vSphere)
Recent experience with DICOM and HL7 protocols.
Fluency with SQL queries (able to read and write complex SQL queries)
Experience with SSMS (or similar tools)
Proficient with Database Administration
Proven ability to write scripts for process automation
Proficient in MS Excel and data presentation.
Secure handling of sensitive data (PHI)/knowledgeable of HIPPA
Basic knowledge of network and systems administration and troubleshooting
Ability to travel to multiple locations, including remote sites, as necessary; valid driver's license and access to a vehicle may be required.
Demonstrated ability to provide real-time, on-site technical support in active clinical and procedural environments.
Experience working directly with physicians, nurses, and technologists to troubleshoot systems and workflows during patient care.
Strong hands-on troubleshooting skills for Windows workstations, peripherals, clinical devices, and mission-critical systems.
Proven success supporting, implementing, and troubleshooting clinical information systems in large-scale healthcare organizations under time pressure.
Experience implementing and/or supporting cardiology systems, especially Siemens Cardiology products.
Experience as a Syngo Dynamics administrator
Experience implementing and supporting Cardiology PACS, Hemodynamics Systems, Ultrasound Echo Modalities, Clinical applications.
Basic knowledge of programming and software development cycle.
2 years' experience in network administration
Experience implementing HL7 interfaces to/from multiple systems.
Proficiency with MS Office products. Excellent verbal, written communication skills, presentation and report writing
Familiarity with clinical workflows in procedural areas (Cath Lab, EP Lab, Echo Lab, or similar).
Preference for candidates with strong operational and hands-on technical backgrounds in healthcare environments.
