American Traveler is hiring a Telemetry RN for a 13-week night shift assignment requiring CA licensure and 2+ years of specialty experience.
Details- Telemetry unit within a hospital setting
- Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)
- Patient ratio of 1:4
- May be required to float to like units or lower acuity units across 5 hospitals (excluding the ED)
- Required to work 4 weekend shifts in a 4-week cycle
- Required to work at least one holiday, including the holiday weekend
- Epic EMR used for charting
- Active CA RN license in hand at time of consideration (Temp or Perm, no EMSA)
- Current AHA BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
- 2+ years of concurrent experience in telemetry specialty required
- Travel experience required, including 6+ months of continuous travel experience leading up to consideration
- Epic or combined Epic/Cerner experience required within the last 6 months
- Community hospital experience required
- Trauma Level I and teaching hospital experience preferred
- Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and use of Rapid Response/Code teams
- Experience with neurological conditions such as CVA, intracranial bleeds, seizure disorders, and TBI
- Experience with respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP, chest tubes, and oxygen administration
- Experience with IV therapy, central/PICC line care, and blood product administration
- 1 supervisory-level professional reference required
- Provide telemetry nursing care including cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and emergency response
- Manage patients with neurological, respiratory, cardiovascular, and renal conditions
- Administer medications including heparin protocols and insulin drips
- Perform wound care and manage isolation precautions/PPE
- Candidates must not reside within a 100-mile radius of the facility to be eligible, except for LVNs/LPNs
- Candidates on assignment in San Diego for 9+ months or longer are considered local and ineligible
- Maximum of 7 days RTO allowed, with no additional requests after consideration
- First-time travelers are not eligible for this position
- Returning staff and travelers may reapply after a 1-year waiting period
- Float requirements may include ICU, SDU, and Tele units at or below skillset, potentially across campuses
