WhatYou’ll Do
As a Field Service Engineer at Oliver Manufacturing, you’ll serve as a key connection between our customers and our internal teams. Your work will focus on installing, servicing, and supporting equipment while helping customers get the most from their investment. You’ll also contribute to continuous improvement by sharing real‑world insights with engineering and production.
- Equipment Installation & Support:
Install new or modified equipment and ensure proper operation according to specifications. - Technical Troubleshooting:
Diagnose and resolve mechanical and technical issues on-site and remotely. - Customer Partnership:
Communicate clearly with customers to understand challenges, explain solutions, and provide ongoing support. - Team
Collaboration:
Work closely with engineering, sales, and customer service to resolve issues efficiently. - Training &
Education:
Train customers on safe operation, preventive maintenance, and best practices. - Continuous Improvement:
Run samples, analyze performance data, and document service activity to support future design and service improvements. - Hands‑On Support:
Assist with rebuilding equipment and preparing machines for shipment when not in the field.
This position includes regular travel to customer sites (approximately 50%), balanced with hands‑on work and collaboration at our facility.
What We’re Looking ForWe’re seeking someone who combines mechanical aptitude with strong communication and a customer‑focused mindset. A proactive approach to troubleshooting and a willingness to learn will help you succeed in this role.
- Mechanical or technical experience in a service, manufacturing, or industrial environment
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, procedures, and safety documentation
- Professional verbal and written communication skills
- Experience with Lincoln and Miller welders; push/pull aluminum welding preferred
- Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain a U.S. passport
- Ability to pass background check and drug testing
