Granulation Technical Operator – Huber Engineered Materials

A Granulation Technical Operator is responsible for setting up, operating and maintaining the granulation system to produce a quality product as specified by the Quality Department. The role involves adjusting system controls, conducting in‑process checks, performing cleaning and reporting volume and quality data. This position reports to the Shift Lead and the Plant Manager.

• Inspects work area for unsafe conditions daily.
• Operates assigned system in a safe and efficient manner.
• Performs preventive maintenance and servicing of equipment as required.
• Ensures hazardous energy to equipment is locked out before repair or cleaning activities begin.
• Assists Maintenance with minor repairs of equipment as directed.
• Sets up pack‑out equipment for bags or super sacks as directed on the production schedule, including inkjet printer when required.
• Conducts regularly scheduled in‑process checks to ensure granule size and bag weights are within specification.
• Maintains packaging supply inventory within the production facility.
• Produces and loads materials as established by the Leads and/or Production Schedule.
• Legibly completes paperwork, including batch records, plant orders, sample bags, inspection reports, etc.
• Keeps work area, warehouse and washroom neat and orderly following GMP guidelines.
• Conducts packaging of product as required.
• Advises succeeding operators, leads, and maintenance on operating problems and conditions.

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent required; technical school a plus.
• 3 to 5 years industrial experience or a combination of education and experience preferred.
• Willing and able to work and act safely.
• Must be able to perform basic mathematical calculations, including multiplication, addition, and percentages – using a calculator if needed.
• Good oral and written communication skills; speak and write in English.

• Work conducted in an area with exposure to ambient heat/cold, noise, vibrations, grease, oil and powdery conditions; equipment on multiple levels requiring climbing stairs or stationary ladders.
• Lifts and/or moves up to 50 pounds.
• Movement percentages: sitting 0%, walking 70%, standing 100%, bending 30%, stoop/kneel/bend 20% and crouch/crawl 5% of shift time.
• Wet environment when washing parts or equipment.
