Position Summary

The College of Southern Maryland is accepting applications for a temporary part-time Scribe position to assist students with disabilities. This applicant pool will be accessed by the hiring manager when there is a hiring need. Duties include note taking, test proctoring and typing. The candidate must be able to maintain a flexible work schedule based on the student s needs.

The hiring salary for this position will be from the min to mid-point of the salary range. This position is open until filled.

This posting is to fill two vacancies.

• At least three years of note taking or related experience
• Excellent spoken and written English language skills
• Exceptional interpersonal skills
• Ability to sustain prolonged concentration and to take accurate notes
• Experience working with diverse populations
• Knowledge and understanding of different types of disabilities and disability protocol
• Familiarity with the academic environment
• Competent computer skills and a minimum typing speed of 70 words a minute
• A high degree of flexibility, maturity, patience and professionalism.
