American Traveler is seeking an Emergency Department RN for a night shift position requiring an active MD or Compact RN license and at least 1-2 years of ED experience.
Details- Fast-paced community hospital Emergency Department with 47 beds and an average daily census of 130
- Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4
- Treats patients of all age ranges, from infant to geriatric, with a wide variety of diagnoses
- Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00-07:30), with 36/48 hour options
- Every other weekend required
- Holiday coverage required as scheduled
- Floating required within specialty, with travelers prioritized to float
- No pre-scheduled on-call requirements
- Epic charting system preferred
- Active MD or Compact RN license required at time of consideration
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required (AHA only)
- CPI certification required
- NIHSS certification required
- 1-2 years of Emergency Department experience required
- Community hospital experience required
- Experience with 1:4 patient ratios preferred
- Skilled in pediatric and adult emergency care across a broad range of diagnoses and conditions, including trauma, psychiatric, respiratory, neurological, and cardiac cases
- Experience with procedural sedation, IV therapy, central line care, and 12-lead EKG interpretation preferred
- Proficiency in triage and isolation precautions/PPE required
- Provide emergency nursing care across a wide range of patient populations and acuities, including trauma, psychiatric, respiratory, and pediatric cases
- Collaborate with the ED care team in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment
- Candidates must be comfortable floating within scope without restrictions
- Max RTO of 7 days permitted; stays exceeding 4 consecutive days require an additional week added to the contract
- One major holiday off during the winter season may be permitted depending on scheduling needs
- First-time travelers with strong ED experience will be considered
- Returning former staff must have been separated from the health system for at least 12 months before eligibility
- Returning travelers must have at least 6 months away from the system before reassignment
- Local candidates within 50 miles of the facility are not accepted unless otherwise specified
