WIOA Juvenile Career Pathway Facilitator - LaPorte

Case manage participants at any stage of the justice system and provide intensive services through various activities in order to prepare youth customers for entry and retention into employment, military, or postsecondary education. The Juvenile Career Pathway Facilitator (JCPF) determines eligibility, completes an objective assessment, interprets assessment results, jointly develops career pathway plans, offers training opportunities, and provides work-based learning experiences with a specific emphasis on preparing youth or young adults to be job ready.

This position reports to the Out of School Youth Team Lead.

Maintain strict confidentiality at all times when handing sensitive information.

Administer or proctor appropriate needs assessments with customers to identify basic literacy and numeracy skills, occupational skills, prior work experience, interests, aptitudes, supportive service needs and developmental needs.

Identify each customer's barriers to employment and services to address them.

Facilitate a variety of employment and skill development services for customers addressing their needs in the areas of education, employment, and supportive services.

Develop Career Pathway Plans with customers to establish appropriate career goals and specific plans for Work One services, skills development activities and job search strategies.

Update and modify IEP as needed to ensure customer needs are met.

Ensure youth or young adult customer is aware of the 14 WIOA program elements.

Refer customers to in-house training or classes at outside training providers.

Provide training vouchers and associated forms to institutions and program service providers.

Develop activities available to customers to enhance their skills, including basic skills development, customer service, computer skills, and job search skills.

Refer qualified and job ready customers to job orders.

Assess customer's financial need when necessary to justify Work One expenditures.

Maintain files within the computer databases ensuring proper documentation is available to support program eligibility and services received.

Maintain knowledge of and communication with other community agencies, programs and training offered. Appropriately refer individuals to community and partner agencies.

Work with other Work One staff as needed to continuously engage the customer through his/her attainment of employment goal, placement, and post exit follow up for retention.

Assist with special projects such as specialized outreach programs to targeted groups and development of new skills training activities.

Maintain monthly customer contact up until exit from program services.

Complete quarterly follow up for one-year post exit.

Attend staff meetings.

Submit required reports in a timely manner.

Contribute in team member role(s) to ensure Work One Center performance standards are met and/or exceeded, and compliance with Federal, State, and Work One Center rules and regulations.

Promote Work One products and resources to customers, including Work Ready Program.

Assist in recruitment efforts to increase enrollments.

Travel to different sites to provide services to client who may be located within a detention center.

Support other staff as needed.
