As a Project Engineer, your mission is to ensure the successful execution of custom industrial vacuum system projects from initial hand‑off through final delivery, translating customer requirements into engineered solutions and coordinating cross‑functional execution.

• Ensure proper coordination throughout the life of the project with other functional areas.
• Maintain awareness of project cost and schedule to meet customer expectations.
• Participate in customer witness testing and analyze test data to validate performance.
• Communicate progress and deliverable updates to stakeholders, raising red flags and highlighting concerns.
• Review and interpret customer specifications to ensure compliance.
• Collaborate with Applications Engineering to clarify scope and resolve technical questions.
• Maintain project engineering schedule by monitoring engineering progress and resolving engineering problems.
• Assist the shop floor with resolving design issues, component shortages, or quality concerns.
• Support Purchasing with technical input for part procurement.
• Foster a team spirit toward driving success and improving business results.
• Select appropriate system components and create BOMs using ERP software.
• Perform CAD design work and prepare detailed component and assembly drawings using Solid Works.
• Apply fluid mechanics and thermodynamics principles for piping design and component selection.
  
  Develop and manage project schedules using MS Project.
• Assist in the design release approval process of project‑related components and assemblies.

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering with 1–2 years experience.
• Work experience in an industrial environment with an engineering background.
• Knowledge of vacuum system skid design, piping, components, and fabrication (preferred).
• Proficiency in Solid Works or equivalent CAD software.
• Experience with ERP systems for BOM creation and management.
• Familiarity with MS Project or similar scheduling tools.
• Strong understanding of fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, and piping design.
• Knowledge of valve and instrumentation selection.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work cross‑functionally.

This role requires onsite work at our offices in Michigan City, IN;
St. Joseph, MI; or LaPorte, IN, United States.
