Machinist – Direct Placement (La Porte, IN)

This company is hiring for a skilled machinist on 1st shift. This is a job shop environment, and candidates will work on a wide range of custom parts and projects, not repetitive line work or high-volume production machining. This company focuses on the design and manufacturing of high-quality drilling equipment. We’re looking for individuals with experience on mills or lathes.

Pay Range
: $26 – $32/hr.

• 1st Shift, Monday - Friday
• 5:00 AM – 1:30 PM CST

• Managing machines and the quality machining processes to increase throughput and quality
• Quality checking parts to ensure they’re within tolerance
• Perform machine setups to run parts
• Maintain machines on a schedule
• Keep environment clean and organized

• Proficiency operating CNC machines (required)
• Strong blueprint reading and interpretation skills (required)
• Familiarity with measuring tools including calipers and micrometers
• Ability to troubleshoot tooling issues and make necessary program edits
• Understanding of tool selection for various applications

• Experience with DMG Mori 3+2, CNC Mill
• Experience with manual mill
• Experience with manual lathe
• Experience with MasterCAM
