The Senior Accountant will manage and support accounting and financial operations for a holding company and its four subsidiaries providing industrial services in the oil, gas, and refining sectors. This role ensures accurate and timely financial reporting, supports internal controls, and contributes to efficient accounting processes across all entities. The Senior Accountant will assist with payroll, accounts payable/receivable, job costing, and project billing, and will play a key role in transitioning from Quick Books to a future enterprise accounting platform.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger entries, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll processing.
- Prepare and follow up on invoices across all operating companies.
- Compile banking reports for lines of credit and compliance requirements.
- Collect, review, and verify field time reports to ensure accurate job costing, payroll, and project billing.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including consolidated reporting.
- Maintain accurate internal controls, accounting policies, and procedures to ensure GAAP compliance.
- Support intercompany transactions, allocations, and eliminations.
- Assist the CFO with budgets, forecasts, and financial analyses to guide business decisions.
- Identify and recommend process improvements to enhance accounting efficiency and reporting accuracy.
- Provide guidance and support to accounting staff, including payroll and accounts payable clerks.
- Assist with planning, implementation, and staff training for a potential ERP transition.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Hands‑on experience with Quick Books Desktop or Enterprise required; experience with Acumatica or other ERP systems preferred.
- Experience in construction, industrial services, staffing, or oil/gas/refining industries preferred.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and present actionable insights.
- Ability to manage multiple responsibilities in a fast‑paced, field‑driven business environment.
- Exposure to ERP system implementation or migration.
- Knowledge of field time collection systems, job cost accounting, and project‑based billing.
- Familiarity with the operational and financial complexities of industrial service contracts and turnaround projects.
