Job SummaryWe are seeking a detail-oriented and safety-conscious Chemical Plant Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating and maintaining the equipment used in our chemical production processes. This role is crucial to ensuring the safe, efficient, and high-quality production of chemical products that meet our company’s standards and customer requirements.
Responsibilities- Operate and Monitor Equipment: Manage and monitor chemical processing equipment to ensure optimal performance and product quality.
- Control Chemical Processes: Adjust machine settings, valves, and controls to regulate pressure, temperature, flow rates, and chemical reactions as per established procedures.
- Mix and Process Chemicals: Measure, mix, and process chemicals following detailed formulas and protocols to produce desired products.
- Perform Routine Inspections: Conduct regular inspections of equipment and systems to detect and troubleshoot operational issues, ensuring that machinery operates safely and efficiently.
- Maintain Production Logs: Accurately record production data, including quantities produced, machine performance, and any anomalies encountered during the process.
- Adhere to Safety Protocols: Follow all safety guidelines and procedures to maintain a safe working environment, including the proper handling and storage of hazardous materials.
- Collaborate with Maintenance Teams: Work closely with maintenance personnel to perform preventive maintenance and address any mechanical issues that may arise.
- Ensure Compliance: Ensure that all processes comply with environmental regulations and company policies regarding chemical manufacturing.
- Quality Control: Perform quality checks to ensure that products meet specifications and identify areas for process improvement.
- High school diploma or equivalent; a degree or certification in chemical engineering, process technology, or a related field is a plus.
- Proven experience as a Chemical Plant Operator or in a similar role in a chemical manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of chemical processes and equipment operation.
- Knowledge of safety procedures and regulations related to chemical manufacturing.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and make quick, effective decisions.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills.
- Ability to stand, walk, and move around the plant for extended periods.
- Capable of lifting and moving heavy materials and equipment as necessary.
- Comfortable working in environments with exposure to chemicals, heat, and noise.
