Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Sets up raw material onto the chuck/machine.
• Adjusts tools.
• a) Runs Horizontal Boring Mill; b) Runs Vertical Boring Mill; c) Operates drill presses; d) Operates Bridgeport milling machine; e) Operates Lathes
• Checks lubricating fluids periodically.
• Performs preventative maintenance on the mill.
• Inspects finished product.
• Corrects defects as required.
• Drills bolt holes as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Performs assigned tasks in a safe manner, avoiding all unsafe practices.
• Performs internal quality control of machining procedures.
• Sets up and performs jobs based on shop practices and procedures.
• Removes shavings as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Knowledge- H.S. diploma or equivalent; or equivalent experience; knowledge of machining practices.

Skills
- Read and write English language; must comprehend and use geometry & algebra; able to read and interpret drawings, accurately read and interpret measuring devises. Experience in fab shop.

Required Tools
- Set of telescoping gauges up to 1-1/4”, 10 or 12 foot tape, 12” adjustable wrench, 6” or 12” scale, center punches, 10, 12, or 14 oz. ball pein hammer, set of hex key wrenches, indicator, basic layout (dividers, trammel points, scribe), adequate tool box.

Working Conditions
- Heat, noisy, dusty, cold, chemical exposures, pinching hazards, stand for long periods of time, some bending, stooping, push/pull, twist, squat, lift & climb, requires 50 lb. lifting ability, and exposed to normal shop hazards.
