About Us

FOX Innovation & Technologies is a global provider of aftermarket engineering, manufacturing, repair, and field services for turbo machinery and other mission-critical rotating equipment. Our capabilities include the reengineering, revamping, repair, and manufacture of complex components for centrifugal compressors, turbines, pumps, and related industrial equipment.

Our La Porte manufacturing operation combines advanced machining capabilities with engineering and repair expertise to support demanding applications across the energy and industrial markets.

The Opportunity

The CNC Mill Operator is responsible for setting up and operating CNC milling equipment to produce precision components in accordance with engineering drawings, specifications, established CNC programs, and FOX quality requirements.

This is a hands-on machining position supporting the manufacture and repair of complex turbo machinery and rotating-equipment components. The ideal candidate has experience operating multi-axis CNC mills, understands machining fundamentals and tooling, and can independently make offsets and adjustments necessary to maintain dimensional accuracy and part quality.

Experience with DMG MORI DMU 5-axis machining centers, FANUC controls, large or complex components, rotating equipment components, and split-part machining is highly desirable.

Responsibilities
  • Set up and operate CNC milling machines to manufacture and repair precision components according to drawings, specifications, setup sheets, and established CNC programs.
  • Operate DMG MORI DMU 5-axis CNC machining centers and other CNC milling equipment.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, work instructions, and applicable GD&T requirements.
  • Review job requirements and verify correct material, tooling, fixtures, programs, and setup prior to machining.
  • Install and properly secure work pieces, fixtures, cutting tools, and other required tooling.
  • Establish and verify machine work offsets, tool offsets, and reference points.
  • Perform machine setup, program prove-out, dry runs, and first-piece verification as required.
  • Make appropriate tool, wear, and dimensional offsets to maintain required tolerances.
  • Perform minor CNC program edits at the machine when necessary and within established authorization and operating procedures.
  • Monitor machining operations and identify abnormal machine conditions, tool wear, chatter, dimensional variation, or other process issues.
  • Select and change cutting tools based on material, operation, tool condition, and machining requirements.
  • Apply working knowledge of speeds, feeds, tooling, work holding, and machining practices to support safe and efficient production.
  • Use precision measuring equipment such as micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, depth gauges, indicators, height gauges, and other inspection equipment to verify part dimensions.
  • Perform in-process inspections and document measurements as required by FOX quality procedures.
  • Identify and report nonconforming conditions and work with Quality, Manufacturing, Engineering, and CNC Programming personnel to resolve machining issues.
  • Safely machine a variety of materials, which may include carbon steels, stainless steels, alloy steels, and exotic or high-temperature alloys.
  • Handle and machine large, complex, and high-value components with a strong emphasis on avoiding scrap, rework, or component damage.
  • Maintain accurate production, inspection, tooling, and job documentation.
  • Perform routine machine cleaning and operator-level preventive maintenance.
  • Maintain tooling, fixtures, work areas, and equipment in a clean and organized condition.
  • Follow all applicable safety procedures, machine guarding requirements, and FOX policies.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives involving machining processes, tooling, setups, cycle time, quality, and productivity.
  • Coordinate effectively with operators on other shifts to ensure proper job and machine handoffs.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Prior hands-on experience operating CNC milling equipment in a precision machining or manufacturing environment is required. Experience machining components for turbo machinery, compressors, turbines, pumps, or other rotating equipment is preferred.
  • Experience machining stainless steels, nickel alloys, Inconel, Hastelloy, or other exotic materials is preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently perform CNC machine setups and operate equipment safely.
  • Ability to read and interpret…
