Position Overview

The Quality Control (QC) Manager is responsible for overseeing all quality assurance and inspection activities throughout the fabrication process. This role ensures that products comply with applicable industry codes (e.g., ASME, TEMA, API), customer specifications, and internal standards. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in fabrication and manufacturing, deep knowledge of quality systems, and proven leadership in a fast‑paced production environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage the QC department, overseeing all inspection activities and documentation.
  • Conduct and supervise in‑process and final inspections, including weld fit‑up, weld quality, dimensional verification, and hydrostatic testing.
  • Interpret fabrication drawings, welding symbols, customer specifications, and material test reports (MTRs).
  • Ensure full traceability of materials and welding consumables used in production.
  • Collaborate with engineering, production, and project management to resolve quality issues and drive continuous improvement.
  • Manage non‑destructive examination (NDE) processes including RT, UT, PT, and MT; coordinate with certified third‑party inspectors as needed.
  • Maintain calibration, proper care, and usage of measuring and inspection tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers, pressure gauges).
  • Create, review, and maintain documentation such as Inspection Test Plans (ITPs), weld maps, non‑conformance reports (NCRs), and quality dossiers.
  • Train, mentor, and supervise QC personnel in inspection practices, code compliance, and quality system requirements.
Required Qualifications
  • Knowledge and hands‑on experience with NDE techniques; certifications in RT, UT, PT, or MT are a plus.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings, weld symbols, and quality documentation.
  • Proficient in using precision inspection tools and gauges.
  • Thorough understanding of welding procedures (WPS/PQR), material traceability, and QA/QC documentation.
  • Experience managing a QC team in a manufacturing or fabrication environment.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 quality systems and experience with root cause analysis and corrective action plans.
