Position: STG - PIPEFITTER
Overview

Summary/Objective: The Pipefitter-Lead is responsible for daily mechanical activities at the client’s facilities. The role involves performing mechanical work, guiding projects towards safety, quality, productivity, and service goals, and ensuring a safe working environment. The Pipefitter-Lead will also conduct business in accordance with company policies and maintain professionalism in all dealings.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions: Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.

Lay out, fabricate, assemble, install, and maintain piping and piping systems, fixtures, and equipment for various systems based on building plans or drawings.

Inspect, examine, and test installed systems and pipelines using appropriate methods.

Plan pipe system layout, installation, or repair according to specifications.

Measure and mark pipes for cutting and threading.

Assemble and secure pipes, tubes, fittings, and related equipment using welding, brazing, cementing, soldering, and threading joints.

Cut, thread, and hammer pipe to specifications using appropriate tools.

Identify and demonstrate safe usage of power tools.

Recognize materials used in piping systems and handle them appropriately.

Select and safely operate equipment such as manlifts, forklifts, and trucks.

Demonstrate knowledge of safe rigging practices and crane hand signals.

Use oxyacetylene flame cutting equipment properly.

Perform accurate field measurements and sketches.

Execute job functions like blinding, tray repairs, modifications, and bolt torque.

Maintain focus under time constraints and adverse conditions.

Attend required training and pass drug/alcohol tests and background checks.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibility: This role includes some supervisory duties.

Other Duties: Duties may change at any time based on business needs.

Work Environment: The job operates in a petrochemical/refinery environment with exposure to extreme temperatures, noise, hazardous chemicals, and the need for respirator use. Fit testing and pulmonary function tests are required.

Physical Demands: The role is physically demanding, requiring lifting up to 50 pounds frequently, working in confined spaces, at heights, and on uneven surfaces. Good communication, visual acuity, and dexterity are essential.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: Project-based with variable hours and potential overtime.

Travel: Extensive travel across the U.S. with overnight stays.

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent, 4-5 years of related industry experience, knowledge of QA/QC, and familiarity with company equipment and tools. Strong math and science skills.

Preferred Education and Experience: Over 5 years’ experience, TWIC, NCCER certification, Basic Plus, Confined Space, OSHA training, First Aid/CPR, Class “A” driver’s license, and a clean MVR.
