Overview
Summary/Objective: The position of a Boilermaker-Lead is responsible for the day-to-day mechanical activities performed in client facilities. A Boilermaker-Lead performs mechanical work to achieve safety, quality, productivity, and service goals. The role involves performing work to maximize quality while maintaining client expectations and ensuring a safe working environment. All business dealings must be conducted professionally, in accordance with company policies and procedures.
ResponsibilitiesEssential Functions: Reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities.
1. Assemble, install, analyze defects, and repair boilers, pressure vessels, tanks, vats, and ductwork in the field.
2. Repair or replace defective parts using hand and power tools, gas torches, welding equipment, and operate metalworking machinery.
3. Demolish and dismantle leaky boilers, patch weak spots, replace defective sections, and strengthen joints. 4. Use rigging equipment such as chain falls and come-alongs.
5. Read and interpret prints and plans.
6. Assist with cleaning and loading equipment and trailers.
7. Maintain a safe working environment in client facilities.
8. Operate and maintain company-owned and rented equipment.
9. Report scope changes to supervisors. 10. Communicate with supervisors during tasks. 11. Support development of customer expectations and timelines. 12. Ensure safety of subordinates and provide a safe work environment. 13. Assist in selecting and developing field personnel. 14. Follow all safety, quality, and OSHA guidelines. 15. Maintain focus under time constraints and adverse conditions. 16. Attend and complete required training.
17. Pass drug, alcohol, and background tests. 18. Perform other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibility: This position has supervisory responsibilities.
Other Duties: Duties may change at any time with or without notice, consistent with business needs.
Work Environment: Operates in petrochemical/refinery environments with exposure to cold, hot, noisy, and hazardous conditions. Use of hearing protection and respirators is required, with fit testing and pulmonary function tests necessary.
Physical Demands: The role is physically demanding, requiring frequent bending, stooping, walking, climbing, lifting up to 50 pounds regularly, working in confined spaces, at heights, and on uneven surfaces. Must communicate effectively and have good visual and sensory perception.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: Project-based with variable hours, including overtime as needed.
Travel: Extensive travel within the U.S. with overnight stays.

QualificationsRequired Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent, with 4-5 years of relevant industry experience. Knowledge of rigging, crane signals, retrieval devices, fall protection, and maintenance of tools and equipment. Strong math and science skills.
Preferred Education and Experience: Over 5 years of industry experience, TWIC, NCCER certification, Basic Plus, Confined Space, OSHA 10/30, First Aid/CPR, and a Class “A” driver’s license with a clean MVR.
