Responsibilities- Assist with assembly, installation, testing, and maintenance of electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures using hand tools and power tools.
- Support diagnosis of malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components, using test equipment and hand tools to locate breakdown causes and correct problems.
- Gather tools and supplies at the work site as instructed by the electrician.
- Measure, cut, and bend wire and conduit using a ruler and hand tools.
- Drill holes for wiring, pull or push wiring through openings using a power drill.
- Trace short circuits in wiring using knowledge of wiring and test meters.
- Assist in lifting, positioning, or fastening objects such as wiring, conduit, and motors.
- Perform minor repairs such as replacing fuses, light sockets, bulbs, and switches.
- Disassemble defective electrical equipment, replace worn or defective parts, and reassemble equipment.
- Assist senior maintenance technicians in their work.
- Perform basic tasks such as changing light bulbs, replacing filters, and fixing leaks.
- Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of systems and equipment.
- Perform cleaning activities such as dusting and sanitizing.
- Assist in troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues.
- Report significant maintenance repairs to supervisor.
- Assist in moving, arranging, and installing office furniture and equipment.
- Adhere to safety procedures and protocols.
- Keep a log of maintenance work and repairs.
- Assist in ordering and maintaining inventory of maintenance supplies and equipment.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Regular standing, walking, climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds. Requires use of hands for finger, reach, and grip. Good vision, hearing, and ability to adjust focus are necessary.
Qualifications Required- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Certification/License: TDLR, TWIC Card, and valid State Driver’s License.
- Minimum 4 years of experience in an industrial maintenance role or similar.
- Legally authorized to work in the United States; this position does not sponsor or transfer visas.
