TICO is an equipment logistics solutions company that has been in business since 1946 and operates over 2,000 Jockey Trucks/Terminal Tractors and more than 1,300 specialty trailers. We are seeking a Trailer Mechanic for our Houston location.
SUMMARYPerform miscellaneous repairs and preventive maintenance on trailers to maintain a safe efficient fleet.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Perform complete routine, diagnostic and repair inspections on trailers for any damage and notify supervisor of potentially dangerous equipment and corrective action taken.
- Comply with all established industry safety norms and other quality control measures while conducting work processes.
- Perform regular servicing and maintenance of equipment and document all repairs in the maintenance software system.
- Maintain and perform repairs on air brake system, suspension, landing gear, foundation brakes, electrical, coupler system, decking, under structure, etc.
- Weld repairs in flat, horizontal, vertical or overhead positions.
- Perform minor repairs on terminal tractors.
- Perform test drive to ensure equipment is functioning properly.
- Provide assistance to other mechanics as needed.
- Comply with Company/agency policy/procedures. Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Complete required paperwork utilizing fleet maintenance software program associated with repairing vehicles, documenting parts usage, and accounting for repair times.
- Other duties may be assigned.
