** 12-hour switching shifts per day, starting at 6:00 AM and ending at 6:00 PM
- Rotating schedule, this site operates 7 days a week
** Pay:** $18.00 – $20.00 per hour, based on experience

The Role This position is responsible for operating locomotives; interpreting train orders, signals, and rules; transporting freight; and ensuring timely, correct switching and placement of railcars.### ## What You’ll Be Doing
* Inspect locomotives before operating.
* Operate throttle and airbrakes in response to signals.
* Interpret train orders, signals, and rules to operate safely and on schedule.
* Assist crew leader with training new employees.
* Observe track conditions for obstructions.
* Prepare reports for accidents, stops, or delays.
* Lubricate moving parts of the locomotive.
* Handle train equipment safely (brakes, switches, derails, gates).
* Control movement of equipment by radio, hand, or lantern signals.
* Apply and release hand brakes.
* Handle air hoses, wheel chocks, and coupling/uncoupling of railcars.
* Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
* Perform other duties as assigned.## ## What We’re Looking For## ##
** Education & Experience*** ## High School diploma or equivalent required.
* Military experience helpful.
** Skills & Abilities
*** Dependable, punctual, and reliable transportation required.
* Strong communication and active listening skills.
* Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
* Works well as part of a team.## ## Physical Demands & Work Environment
* Frequent standing and walking; occasional climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, or crawling.
* Ability to lift and/or move heavy weights.
* Vision requirements include close, distance, color, peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
* Moderate to heavy physical effort, including climbing railcars and using hand/power tools.
