Job Summary
The Inventory Planning & Procurement Manager at GOVX is a high-ownership leader responsible for inventory planning, forecasting, pricing insights, and procurement execution to align our assortment with member demand and revenue goals. This role partners cross-functionally to turn data into actions that improve in-stock performance, sell-through, margin, forecast accuracy, and PO execution.
Key ResponsibilitiesLeadership & Ownership
- Own inventory planning + procurement, set priorities, drive timelines, and accountable for outcomes.
- Build, coach, and retain a high-performing inventory procurement team—setting clear expectations, establishing career paths, training, and performance routines that raise capability and accountability.
Own the procurement work product end-to-end (buy plans, forecasts, vendor pipeline, cost/terms, POs, and on-time delivery)—implementing standards, reviews, and QA so outputs are accurate, auditable, and consistently hit availability, and inventory health targets.
Lead the cross-functional operating cadence for prebooks, replenishment, markdowns, and inventory health, and enforce standard work through documented SOPs, defined owners and deadlines, KPI reporting, and clear escalation paths for risks and exceptions.
Procurement & Purchase Order Execution
- Own end-to-end procurement execution and partner alignment (brand check-ins, timelines, constraints), escalating risks to protect availability.
- Partner with Inventory Management and Accounting to quickly resolve PO receiving, billing, reconciliation issues—and implement root-cause fixes to prevent repeat issues.
Forecasting, Planning & Inventory Strategy
- Own demand forecasting and translate it into buy/replenishment decisions (quantities + timing) to reduce stockouts/overstock and improve forecast accuracy and inventory efficiency.
- Lead seasonal prebook analytics (category/color/size studies) and provide ordering recommendations that improve conversion, sell-through, and margin.
Dropship to In-house Inventory Optimization
- Drive the dropship ↔ in-house inventory playbook. Identify what should be stocked, what should move to dropship, and align with the Director on capacity planning to protect in-stock performance.
- Monitor dropship availability and integration feeds to add/maintain high-impact SKUs and resolve feed-level availability gaps.
Pricing, Conversion & Markdown Leadership
- Lead pricing, conversion, and margin tradeoff analysis; deliver recommendations and own markdown cadence to balance sell-through and profitability.
- Own partner performance visibility: maintain top-partner dashboards/KPIs and lead quarterly insights and actions with Partner Management.
Data, Reporting & Systems
- Build and own dashboards/models (Excel/Power BI/Net Suite/Streamline), track KPIs, and turn performance data into prioritized actions across planning, procurement, pricing, and merchandising.
- Own inventory data integrity across integrations, SKU setup, and critical custom fields to ensure accurate reporting and reliable planning, purchasing, and forecasting decisions.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Analytics, Supply Chain, or related field preferred (Associate’s considered with relevant experience).
- 3+ years in ecommerce buying/planning/procurement/inventory analysis preferred; 2+ years in inventory purchasing required/preferred depending on leveling.
- 3+ years of experience in a manager/supervisor capacity preferred.
- Advanced Excel (models, pivots, formulas, analysis) with strong quantitative skills.
- Forecasting and demand planning capability; strong business judgment around tradeoffs.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management—able to influence without authority and present to senior leaders.
- Highly organized, deadline-driven, and proactive with exceptional attention to detail.
- Power BI proficiency preferred;
Net Suite experience preferred.
