Essentially responsible for assurance of quality standards through process auditing and in-process inspection of product, as well as incoming inspections of raw materials.

Purpose of Position

Responsible for assurance of quality standards through process auditing and in-process inspection of product, as well as incoming inspections of raw materials received at building 2 to ensure that specifications are met. Reports potential quality related problems to quality management. Recommends corrective actions, as required.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct in-process inspections and audits of processes according to a set schedule to ensure product specifications are met in all aspects of the manufacturing process.
  • Prepare quality reports for trend analysis and identification of problems areas.
  • Assist quality management in identifying, communicating and facilitating the need for changes to enhance process and product quality.
  • Coordinate collection of data for use in the repair process.
  • Conduct daily audits of the repair process to ensure the work instructions are being followed and that the individuals performing the work have been trained.
  • Interface with manufacturing and quality management when defects or deviations to specifications are found.
  • Communicate potential quality problems to quality management.
  • Conduct incoming inspection on components from vendors, as required.
  • Record quality data and transactions.
  • Communicate results in reports and assist in Corrective Action Reports as necessary.
  • Provide support to the repair process during the implementation of new work instructions and changes to existing work instructions.
  • Assist with the implementation of quality program(s) into manufacturing based on ISO requirements.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment by identifying all safety hazards and recommending corrective actions when necessary.
  • Utilize proper lifting and material movement techniques at all times.
  • Actively work to improve processes in the company.
  • Perform cosmetic checks on units.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.
Qualification Requirements
  • Two (2) years experience in a manufacturing or service environment required.
  • One (1) year quality auditing experience in a reverse logistics or return environment preferred.
  • Technical experience preferred.
