Accounting Specialist

The Accounting Specialist is responsible for processing vendor invoices, ensuring timely payments, maintaining accurate records, and supporting day‑to‑day accounting operations.

• Process and verify vendor invoices with accuracy and timeliness
• Manage weekly payment runs and vendor payments
• Reconcile Accounts Payable accounts and resolve discrepancies
• Maintain vendor files, W‑9s, and payment documentation
• Respond to vendor inquiries and internal payment requests
• Prepare, track, and process annual 1099 forms
• Assist with month‑end close, including accruals and reconciliations
• Take ownership and assume additional duties as assigned

• Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred; equivalent work experience accepted
• 1‑3 years of experience in accounts receivable, billing, or project accounting
• Experience with accounting software;
  Rootstock experience is a plus
• Strong attention to detail
• Proficient in Excel and data entry
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Comfortable working in a high‑stress, fast‑paced environment with shifting priorities
• Excellent time management, organizational, and analytical skills
• Self‑starter who can find and resolve issues as they are identified
• Ability to successfully interface with a wide range of personnel within the organization
