Essential Requirements
- No history of child abuse or negligence.
- A High School Diploma or Equivalent is required.
- A current Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential (or comparable credential) with training or equivalent coursework in early childhood development.
- Head Start or Early Head Start experience preferred but not required.
- This position is eligible for VEOA Veteran’s Preference.
- Successfully pass required background checks.
- Regular and dependable in person attendance is required and is considered a condition of employment.
- The assigned duties of this position are not eligible for remote work consideration.
Responsibilities
- Understand and comply with ESU #3 Board of Education Personnel Policies and Employee Handbook.
- Ensure compliance with grant requirements, Program Performance Standards, Nebraska Department of Education Rule 11, and Head Start policies and procedures.
- Follow directions (written and oral) in an efficient manner.
- Utilize active supervision guidelines to ensure that all necessary and reasonable precautions are taken to protect children and monitor the learning environment for health and safety.
- Participate in health and nutrition activities to include family style meals.
- Support the learning environment and assist with various activities in the classroom as directed by the Head Start/Early Head Start staff.
- Support children in problem solving and resolving conflicts under the supervision and direction of the Head Start/Early Head Start staff.
- Maintain positive working relationships with SCHS co-workers, specialists and supervisors.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding co-workers, agency, as well as family and child information.
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
At Will Employment
Employment with ESU #3 is not for any period of time, and employment may be terminated at any time at the convenience of the terminating party, with or without cause, and with or without notice.
