Key ResponsibilitiesAs a French second language teacher you will play a critical role in ensuring student achievement as specified in the curriculum guides of French programs. You are committed to furthering the goals for student success in an inclusive, safe, and caring bilingual environment. You subscribe to a students first philosophy in your practice and believe that collaboration is key for your growth as an educator.
For selected candidates, prepare to discuss experience and demonstrated competencies in relation to the eight standards of practice for classroom teachers.

- Plan and implement effective, responsive teaching and learning
- Assess, provide feedback, and report on student learning

- Apply knowledge of outcomes, specific content expertise, and second language teaching methodology
- Use knowledge, experience, and commitment to provide culturally relevant instruction and assessment for all students
- Balance language instruction with content delivery
- Model an accurate and fluent linguistic model to ensure a language‑rich learning environment
- Facilitate authentic interactive strategies for the progressive development of French second language learning
- Apply second language literacy development through differentiated strategies and resources
- Bachelor of Education – Secondary with French Major (10 courses)
- NL Teaching Certificate – Level IV or higher
- Minimum of B2 DELF Assessment (70% overall average with no less than 60% in all four components)
- French first‑language applicants may be considered equivalent
- Equivalencies will be considered
Annual teacher salary scale contained within the NLTA Provincial Collective Agreement and benefits contained within the agreement.
Incentives provided on a pro‑rated basis if a teacher works less than a full contract or on unpaid leave:
- Taxable $2,040.00 solation allowance paid bi‑weekly to all Labrador teachers (Article 24.02 of the Collective Agreement)
- Subsidized housing units may be available in Labrador City and Wabush
- Labrador Allowance and Travel Allowance calculated based on school location and dependants
- One‑time round‑trip travel claim up to $1,700.00 available for relocation, paid upon arrival and at the end of the school year
