AboutThe Role
We are looking for a Procurement Analyst, Service Delivery – Mine to join the Iron Ore Company of Canada (IOC) Procurement team.
This is a great opportunity to play a key role in managing procurement activities for operational service delivery while partnering with stakeholders across the business to deliver value, drive efficiency, and support strategic sourcing initiatives.
Reporting to the Business Partner – Mine & Process, you will lead end-to-end sourcing and contracting activities for operations projects, engage with major suppliers, and contribute to the continuous improvement of procurement practices and supplier relationships, and you will be
- Developing, implementing and maintaining sourcing strategies that align with business requirements;
- Collecting and analysing internal, market and system data, including SAP, Ariba and contract management systems, to identify value opportunities and inform sourcing decisions;
- Preparing and releasing tender packages, conducting procurement risk assessments, evaluating supplier proposals and developing recommendations to award;
- Developing and executing negotiation plans, engaging with Contracts and Legal teams as required, and preparing contracts or variations in line with Rio Tinto principles;
- Collaborating with Procurement colleagues, business stakeholders and suppliers to align sourcing outcomes with site priorities and annual plans;
- Supporting supplier performance, day-to-day supplier integration and continuous improvement initiatives that enhance quality, efficiency and sustainable cost outcomes.
- A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team;
- Experience in procurement, including sourcing, tender preparation, evaluation, negotiation and contract execution;
- A sound understanding of procurement processes and principles, supported by strong influencing, stakeholder engagement and change management capability;
- The ability to work flexibly in a high-paced role, managing priorities and stakeholders while maintaining autonomy and self-motivation;
- Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills;
- Experience with, or an understanding of, SAP, Ariba, MCi Track and Microsoft applications; and
- Previous experience working on an operational site will be highly regarded.
- Experience with SAP, Ariba, and Power BI.
- Professional procurement designation (SCMP, CPSM, MCIPS, or equivalent).
- Bilingualism (English and French).
